Mrs Ebun James-DeKam is a child of God since birth to present day. One of her favourite Scripture verse is taken from Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understandings, in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”.
She is currently the General Secretary of the Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL), appointed in 2011.Mrs James- DeKam was formerly the Director of Human Rights and Social Services, Council of Churches in Sierra Leone, Education Director/Scholarship Coordinator, Baptist Convention of Sierra Leone, Lecturer, Margai Teachers College, Department of Agriculture and Senior Teacher I, Ministry of Education, Services Secondary School, 1990-1995.
Educationally, she holds a Degree in Educational Administration, M. Ed. (1995-2000), Department of Education, Fourah Bay College, Bachelors of Science Degree in Agricultural Education, (1979-1983), Njala University College and Higher Teachers Certificate, Milton Margai Teachers College (1976-1979).
In addition, Mrs James has been Consultant to the Justice Sector Development Programme (JSDP) on developing the Terms of Reference, Code of Conduct and reviewing the existing Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affair and the Sierra-Leone Police (Family Support Unit). Organised and facilitate training on Psychosocial Counselling for Church Women in the Western Area, Sierra Leone. Consultant to the Education Unit in UNICEF: Training of teachers in the Kenema and Pujehun District on “Psychosocial Care and Support for Child Victim of Gender Based violence”
Mrs James -Dekams also is an Executive Committee Member Baptist Convention of Sierra-Leone (BCSL), Executive member Fellowship of Christian Council and Churches in West Africa (FECCIWA), executive member of the of The Evangelical College of Theology (TECT) , Women’s President for The Western Area Baptist Association (west Zone).
