One of the leading Community Radio Stations in Sierra Leone Star Radio 103.5 FM on Thursday 7th June 2018, hosted FOCUS 1000 Web and Data Manager Sallieu Sesay who talked on the organization’s key area of interventions.

Sallieu started highlighting FOCUS 1000’s six key interventions i.e. Immunization, exclusive breastfeeding, antenatal care, proper use of mosquito net, reduction of teenage pregnancy and the promotion of voluntary blood donation, thus referencing various projects in addressing these issues.

‘Our approach in FOCUS 1000 is not limited to media engagement but with massive community engagement, mobilization and advocacy with our Kombra Network which constitute religious leaders, market women, traditional healers, the media, civil societies and key community influencers’ Sallieu expressed.

He further encouraged listeners on the importance of blood donation in saving lives.

FOCUS 1000 Web and Data Manager proudly informed listeners on FOCUS 1000’s Communication Section that led the team in winning second position during the Health Hackathon on Risk Communication for West Africa in addressing challenges ranging from Coordination, Social Mobilization, Community Engagement and Media Outreach during health emergencies.
