The Ebola Virus Disease outbreak has orphaned thousands of Children, while a good number of them have become survivors. Some of these orphans and survivors are located in various centers within the country.
The St Georges Foundation is a humanitarian Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to empowering children, women and communities through services that enhance their well-being, protection and development. It accommodates over 30 Ebola child survivors and orphans situated at Grafton, Peninsular Road, Western Area Rural in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
With support from Friends of FOCUS 1000, the Islamic Action Group (ISLAG) and Christian Action Group (CHRISTAG), food items, Materials, and assorted learning kits were donated to the home to support the daily sustenance of the children on Friday 28th August 2015.
The executive Director for St Georges Foundation Madam Jestina expressed her thanks and appreciation to Friends of FOCUS 1000 and the ISLAG and CHRISTAG groups for considering their home, as the donated items are greatly needed for the up keeping of children in the home.
Friends of FOCUS 1000 have been very supportive in supporting orphans and survivors through meaningful contributions in the form of food and non-food items.
